ASSIGN is the Aslib Social Sciences Information Group and Network. It is a special interest group of Aslib which acts as a support group for social science information workers across the UK. The Social Sciences are defined very broadly to include such subject areas as economics, politics, social welfare, social policy, sociology and womens studies. Members include representatives from academic institutions, voluntary organisations and government departments. Particular areas of interest are electronic resources and library management, teaching and learning and Social Science information resources.
