Developments with BioMedNet

The message to scientific online communities, is increasingly `Adapt or die'. Scientific researchers constantly demand more from the Internet and want it faster. BioMedNet, the Internet community for biological and medical researchers, has re-launched its website. Building on BioMedNet's unprecedented success over the last two years, BioMedNet2 is quicker, easier to use and even richer in content.

“BioMedNet is already the most valued and most visited web site for scientific researchers. BioMedNet2 will continue to lead the way in the provision of innovative and effective online resources.” Jonathan Newby, Group Managing Director of Elsevier Science's London Operation.

Launched in April 1996, BioMedNet now has over 200,000 active members from the scientific research community (including Nobel Prize winners and best selling authors Steve Jones and Richard Dawkins) – with 14,000 members joining every month. It provides them with a full-text library of core biological and medical publications; a free daily `webzine' HMS Beagle; a free Medline on the web; a job exchange, shopping mall and bookshop. BioMedNet currently receives 2.5 million page accesses a month.

New attractions on BioMedNet include:

BioMedNet will continue to provide the best information and services for its members.
